Krell Unveils S-300i Integrated Amp

According to a company press release, Krell is unveiling its new S-300i stereo integrated amp, featuring Class A preamplifier circuitry and a 150wpc (8 ohm)/300wpc (4 ohm) amplifier.

The press release continues by saying that the amp uses the same circuit design found in Krell’s top of the line Evolution products and incorporates a 750 VA toroidal transformer and 38,000 microfarads of storage capacitance. Like the company’s KID dock, the S-300i can connect to iPods and iPhones via the fully differential output of their internal DACs.

The release goes on to say that the machined volume control on the S-300i’s front panel also accesses the unit’s control menu, which provides options to adjust balance, input trim, input naming, and muting level. In addition, the amp features a theater pass-through mode that allows an A/V receiver to power center and surround channels.

The amplifier’s back panel has three unbalanced RCA inputs, a balanced XLR input, and a jack for an iPod cable. It also features 3.5mm jacks for IR input and 12-volt trigger input and output.

The release adds that the unit includes a solid aluminum remote control.

Pricing: $2500
