Gefen Wireless HDMI Extender is Now Shipping

A press release announces that Gefen is now shipping the UWB (ultra-wideband) Wireless for HDMI Extender, a two-piece sender/receiver system that wirelessly transmits HDMI signals up to 33 feet.

The release says that the extender is perfect for ceiling mounted or outdoor displays or any application where running wires is undesirable. The system sets up easily and is compatible with any A/V source that uses the HDMI standard. The sender box has two HDMI inputs and one component video (with two-channel audio) input. It acts as a switcher allowing access to three sources from one HDTV.

The release adds that the Wireless for HDMI Extender has built-in interference cancellation so that other electronics operating in the wireless band (e.g. cell phones, wi-fi networks) do not cause unwanted noise.
