Epos Updates A Budget Classic with the ELS 8 Bookshelf Speaker

According to its Web site, www.epos-acoustics.com, English hi-fi manufacturer Epos is introducing the ELS 8 bookshelf speaker ($495/pair), the successor to the company’s popular and award-winning ELS 3—a loudspeaker many regard as a budget audiophile classic.

The site says that the ELS 8 has a larger, internally braced cabinet that helps extend bass response in the lower frequency range. The cabinet also has a slightly curved front baffle that helps to reduce diffraction and a rear port to further extend bass reproduction. The ELS 8 employs 150mm polypropylene cone drivers and a new 1” metal dome tweeter that incorporates a ferrite magnet. The ELS 8 is available with a black vinyl finish.
