According to a press release, David Wiener Ventures, the acclaimed design agency that develops products under the DWV and Ferrari brand names, is now shipping the Art.Suono Music Enhancing Transmission System and iPod Dock.
The release continues by saying the Art.Suono uses DWC-Wireless technology that lets users transmit any audio source—be it an iPod, a computer, or a CD player—to any audio system, including the Ferrari Art.Engine. The technology operates via Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) in the 2.4Gz ISM band, which maintains wireless communication by rapidly changing channels when necessary.
The release says that the Art.Suono also features DWC-Aphex circuitry, a sonic enhancement technology designed by Aphex Systems. The release says that the circuitry has the following benefits:
• Restores harmonics lost in compressed music files.
• Optimizes bass frequency response without increasing listening volume or creating muddiness.
• Maintains sonic detail even at low volume levels.
• Restores “brightness, range, clarity, detail, and presence.”
The release adds that the Art.Suono consists of a transmitter and a compact receiver that houses the DWC-Aphex circuitry. Up to two receivers can be used for a multi-room solution. The Art.Suono system is finished in machined aircraft-grade aluminum with carbon fiber accents and features iPod docking/charging, an “Engine Start” power button, a “Shift” input signal switch, a concealed input signal jack, LED indicators, and a volume control.
