Display Link Enables You to Connect Multiple Monitors Over USB

Display Technology of the Future

This may not look like much, but you may be seeing a lot of this chip in the future. In it is the technology that makes connecting another monitor to your PC as easy plugging in a mouse, because a USB 2.0 connection is all it needs.

With an adequate CPU company officials say up to six external monitors are possible, but don't be too concerned about your PC's spces. At Intel's booth I saw a lowly netbook powering two external monitors flawlessly. This means users of older laptops and destops, which usually come without a secondary display options, should have no problems realizing the productivity benifits of multiple monitors. Also power users won't have to shell out for workstation computers to hit quad-monitor and above nirvana.

Several major manufacturers have incorporated Display Link technology into their products, and it can be found embedded in monitors, port replicators, docking stations and as a stand alone device.
