Denon Announces New Home Theater Line of AVRs

Among many products Denon recently announced for its product line for 2009-2010, four new home theater AVRs take a significant place for today’s home theater enthusiast. Ranging in price from $350 to $1,500, the models have in common a one-HDMI-cable connection and compatibility with HDMI 1.3a. All models will feature 10-bit video processing, analog-to-HDMI video conversion, 24-bit/192-kHz Analog Devices DACs, and Audyssey Dynamic Volume, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, and Audyssey MultEQ. And of course, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding will be de rigeur.

The flagship of the bunch, the AVR-990 ($1,500; shipping in July) will sport 5 HDMI inputs as will the AVR-890 ($800; shipping in June). Rounding out the four, will be the AVR-790 (4 HDMI inputs, $500; shipping in June) and the AVR-590 (3 HDMI inputs, $350; shipping also in June).
