Da-Lite Teams with Joe Kane Productions On Super Screen

According to a press release, Da-Lite screen company and Joe Kane Productions have collaborated in order to introduce the JKP Affinity screens, which use HD Progressive screen fabrics designed to complement the most advanced HD digital projectors.

The release says that after Joe Kane collaborated with Samsung to produce the SP-A800B (read PB’s review here), he realized that its exceptional performance surpassed the capability of what traditional screens were able to display. Kane turned to Da-Lite, whose engineers and chemists were able to meet his demands by creating a new material that features low gain for a wide viewing angle and image uniformity.

According to a PR representative, Da-Lite makes nine standard screen sizes in HDTV (1.78) format and six in Cinemascope (2.35) format. Da-Lite can also make custom screen sizes.

The PR representative noted that for HDTV format, prices range from $1,446 for a 77” screen to $3,110 for a 159” screen. For Cinemascope screen, prices range from $1,868 for a 96” screen to $2,872 for a 138” screen.
