A key area of emphasis for the session involved Denon’s announcement of two new and relatively affordable 3D-ready Blu-ray/Universal disc players, plus a fascinating new hybrid product that essentially combines the function of an AVR and a Blu-ray/Universal player in one box. But for music lovers perhaps the most important news of all was Denon’s announcement that, going forward, its Blu-ray player products would all be configured as universal players capable of playing high resolution DVD-Audio and SACD discs. To ensure total future-readiness, an upcoming firmware update is scheduled to be available in the fall for 3D capability in the new Blu-ray players.
